You can head out early to the lake, come back to the campground for lunch, and then head out again at the end of the day without spending your entire weekend in the car.
The Galetas Bridge, which marks the entrance to the Verdon Gorge, is less than an hour from the campground. To take in all the sights in a single day, the best option is to drive around the Grand Canyon, setting out in the morning.
