Les gorges du Verdon se prêtent parfaitement au rafting

Things to Do in the Verdon whitewater rafting, hiking, biking

Camping La Pinède is the “gateway” to the Verdon Regional Nature Park, a diverse region in the heart of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

The Gorges are just 40 minutes away, Lake Sainte-Croix is 30 minutes away, and the lavender fields of Valensole are 20 minutes away. Few campsites in the Verdon can say the same.

Canyoning, rafting, kayaking: Welcome to the Gorges

Rafting down the Gorges, kayaking beneath the cliffs, or diving into a canyoning pool: the Verdon is one of Europe’s most renowned whitewater playgrounds.

At Lake Sainte-Croix, rent a canoe, kayak, or electric boat and set off from the Pont du Galetas bridge to travel the first 2 kilometers up through the Gorges, between 300-meter-high cliffs.

The Blanc-Martel Trail and GR4: Hiking in the Verdon

The Blanc-Martel Trail (14 km deep in the Gorges) takes 6 to 7 hours to hike. It’s the hike everyone wants to do at least once in their lifetime. Shuttle service is available from La Palud-sur-Verdon, Le Point Sublime, and Le Chalet de la Maline.

For a more leisurely outing, several trails around Gréoux-les-Bains are accessible from the campground. They showcase the diversity of the Provençal landscape: olive groves, lavender fields, scrubland, lakes, and views of the Verdon canyons.

Cycling Tour of the Verdon: La Pinède, a must-see stop

Cyclists passing through who stop at La Pinède campground will find the welcome they deserve: dedicated bike parking and secure storage for their bikes.
